August 2012:<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/emilyrosemichaud\/sets\/72157624710421855\/\" target=\"_blank\">PHOTOS<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/55692105\">VIDEO<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;\">\nThis newer, more sombre incarnation of&nbsp;<i>Taste the Source<\/i>&nbsp;was performed throughout the evening for Wakefest, as a spontaneous, anonymous street action, in the form of a rally-cry to preserve the quality of the water we currently have access to. I inhabited the role of mermaid for the better part of an evening, in order to inhabit the vulnerability only the smallest of our river&rsquo;s creatures are faced with, the creatures who make up the eco-system. They are hostage to the poor decisions governed&nbsp; by greed and mis-managed power. It is my hope that the more we allow ourselves to feel the impact of poor decisions being waged upon our environments daily, the more we may act with conviction to protect them, and their most defenseless inhabitants.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;\">\nThis piece was made as a response to two current water issues many locals find themselves struggling with. The first controversial topic is the looming construction of a septic sludge treatment plant which would dump effluent into the Gatineau River upstream, North of Wakefield. Secondly, the illegal digging of a sandpit by Couillard construction for Highway 5&rsquo;s continued development North could potentially disturb the health of Wakefield&rsquo;s only freshwater spring source. Parle!)<\/div>\n<div>\nFestival des arts Wakefest, Wakefield, Qc. ao\u00fbt 2012 :<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/55692105\" target=\"_blank\">VIDEO<\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/emilyrosemichaud\/sets\/72157624710421855\/\">PHOTOS<\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\nCette incarnation r\u00e9cente et plus sombre de la performance&nbsp;<i>Go\u00fbtez \u00e0&nbsp;la source<\/i> a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e tout au long de la soir\u00e9e au festival Wakefest, comme un acte spontan\u00e9, anonyme, sous la forme&nbsp;d&rsquo;un cri de ralliement pour pr\u00e9server la qualit\u00e9 d&rsquo;eau dont nous avons pr\u00e9sentement acc\u00e8s.<\/p>\n<p>J&rsquo;ai incarn\u00e9 le r\u00f4le de la sir\u00e8ne pendant une bonne partie de la soir\u00e9e, afin d\u2019habiter une&nbsp;fraction de la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 laquelle sont confront\u00e9es les plus petites cr\u00e9atures de notre rivi\u00e8re :&nbsp;les poissons, les grenouilles, les escargots, les oiseaux, les algues et une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9&nbsp;d\u2019insectes. Ils sont pris en otage par les mauvaises d\u00e9cisions faites par des hommes d\u2019affaires. Ce geste de ma part, est n\u00e9 d&rsquo;un lieu affectif, et non&nbsp;pas d&rsquo;un lieu politique. Mon&nbsp;espoir c&rsquo;est qu\u2019on se permet de vraiment ressentir d&rsquo;avantage l&rsquo;impact des mauvaises&nbsp;d\u00e9cisions men\u00e9es quotidiennement sur nos environnements, et qu&rsquo;on agira avec conviction&nbsp;pour les prot\u00e9ger, et de prot\u00e9ger les occupants les plus vuln\u00e9rable.<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nCette pi\u00e8ce est inspir\u00e9e en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 deux questions r\u00e9centes concernant l&rsquo;eau dont font face&nbsp;de nombreux r\u00e9sidants. Le premier sujet de controverse est la construction imminente d&rsquo;une&nbsp;usine de traitement des boues de fosses septiques qui pourrait d\u00e9gager de l&rsquo;effluent dans&nbsp;l&rsquo;amont de la rivi\u00e8re Gatineau, au nord de Wakefield. Deuxi\u00e8mement, le creusement d&rsquo;une&nbsp;sabli\u00e8re ill\u00e9gale par Construction Couillard \u00e0 cause du d\u00e9veloppement continu de l&rsquo;Autoroute 5&nbsp;nord pourrait perturber la sant\u00e9 de la seule source d&rsquo;eau \u00e0 Wakefield.
