A massive ‘weave-in’ open to the general public.<\/b>
\nTake back green spaces! <\/b>
\nFriday August 17, from 1-4pm.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a spontaneous invitation to come out tomorrow to Le Champ des Possibles at 1pm for a massive ‘weave-in’ open to the general public. This is a call out for some hands and fingers to help create a temporary, braided land-art work. <\/b> We will be braiding the chest-high grasses together in the form of the Roerich Garden that existed there from 2007-2011. With 10 people on it at once, things will go quickly and easily. It will be great to see people come out, face to face to enjoy this awesome space, whose future development and the details around it are still being negotiated between the city and Les Amis du Champ des Possibles. Come when you can, stay if you like. Bring your friends!<\/p>\n


\nWHO<\/b>
\nEveryone and anyone.<\/p>\n

WHAT<\/b>
\nA ‘weave-in’ gathering community participants to assemble a temporary, land-art sculpture weaving the Roerich symbol out of the grasses presently growing. We will be braiding grasses without uprooting them in order to make the Roerich symbol visible again.<\/p>\n

WHY<\/b>
\nA pleasure to the fingers turned collective message to the city. We will be doing this upon the ground where the Roerich Garden used to grow. The Roerich symbol literally means ‘Don’t Bomb Here’ and is a sign of cultural preservation. It was used in the second World war to protect historical, religious and cultural monuments. The braids intervene minimally with the grasses already growing and bring attention to the future development of this space.<\/p>\n

\nCela est une invitation spontann\u00e9e pour annoncer qu’\u00e0 partir de 13h demain apr\u00e8s-midi, au Champ des Possibles il y aura un tissage massif ouvert au grand public. On appelle tous les mains et le doigts qui s’int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d’un oeuvre Land Art temporaire, tiss\u00e9 d’herbes sauvages vivantes. Nous allons tiss\u00e9s ces herbes ensemble en forme du symbole Roerich qui \u00e9xistait au Champ entre 2007 et 2011. Avec une dizaine de personnes, \u00e7a irais vite et facilement. \u00c7a sera merveilleux de voir une gang de gens, face \u00e0 face, pour appr\u00e9cier ce beau terrain – les d\u00e9tails de son futur d\u00e9veloppement toujours en n\u00e9gociation entre la ville et Les Amis du Champ des Possibles. Venez quand vous pouvez, et restez si vous d\u00e9sirez. Ammenez vos amiEs!<\/b><\/div>\n

\nUne tissage, ouvert au grand public et une installation ‘land art’ temporaire. On tisserais de tresses dans un cercle sans les arracher pour refaire le symbole Roerich.<\/p>\n

POURQUOI<\/b>
\nUn simple plaisir pour les doigts, et un message \u00e0 la ville. On fait \u00e7a sur le sol o\u00f9 le Jardin Roerich \u00e9tait une fois. Le symbole veut dire ‘pas de bombardements’ et signifie la pr\u00e9servation culturel. Il \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9 dans la seconde guerre mondiale pour prot\u00e9ger des monuments qui avait une valeur historique et culturel. Les tresses interviennent d’une fa\u00e7on minimale avec les plantes vivantes.<\/p>\n
