Culture in the Schools

Various art projects and residencies in collaboration with youth from schools across Quebec and Ontario, Canada, 2018-2011.

As well as being a visual artist, I also work as an educator and work to make cultural programming more present in schools. I specialize in art + nature projects, and since 2004, I’ve offered visual art workshops in and out of the institution, as well as worked with youngsters, teens, adults and seniors in all media, for leisure, as emotional outlet, education, and portfolio development.

Check out my projects, learn more about my art practice and bio, here. View my CV, here.

The curriculum links I offer – Explore environmentally and socially engaged art, collective process, cultivate agency on ecological issues, foster creative confidence, independent thought, deepen artistic skills. Suitable for subjects in art and nature (earth sciences, ecology, biology, geography, history). Working with colour, texture, drawing, perception, measurement; explore the relationship between person and place.

The photos in this series are from projects realized at schools in the National Capital region and Montreal (2017-2019). These archives are primarily from the ‘DIY Paint + Pigment’ workshops and ‘Collective Mural Residencies’, done with students ranging in age from grade 1-12.
