Alcove series is a collection of large-scale paintings I made over the winter of 2004 in preparation for a solo show at Galerie Cachée (established by Jamie Munro) at Place 1870 in Wakefield, Quebec. It was completed after extensive travels to the South of France and Italy, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Utah and California. The poetry I had been writing at the time was projected onto canvas using an overhead projector, then traced using a layering technique inspired by the play of pigment, light and shadow.
